Can't the present Green Street Library facilitate this? That's what libraries are for.
Why is Newham planning department looking at Hackney - can't they come up with their own ideas?

Feels like a benefit that is mainly for families with young children. I cannot see the benefit for myself personally.

@Local Resident - agree, while doing my professional exams, I didnt have anywhere local to study, i ended up going to tower hamlets idea store. Any education space needs to cater for adults, young and elderly, kids and families

@Local Resident No direct benefit to me either, but you and I already have the benefit of left education. This is an idea to benefit kids. There are other projects here to benefit adults who need work space, such as the co-working projects :)

What we really need is a larger library. We should be taken notes from the libraries in Tower Hamlets, Idea Stores. These have workshop space, silent study, computer study, exercise areas, cafes and classrooms etc. This is what we need to boost the future prospects of children, teens and adults from this area.

@Jim Holt The 'pirate' concept isn't explained here, so I've posted a video below which does this. It's an extremely effective way of helping school-aged kids, in particular those from deprived households, to attain better grades. It's not a library, but a space where kids can have one-to-one help from adult volunteers who have been DBS checked.

I believe this alone, above all other proposals on this site, will provide the maximum value to residents, both to the kids receiving help, to the adults providing it, and to the resultant effects on the community by augmenting education and providing kids from deprived households with the space to study and the guidance and help of others.
