Greenway Orchard Green Gym is a group of residents, open to everyone, that aims to improve the Greenway Orchard and increase use of this valuable green space.
This project is looking to provide three benches situated both in the orchard and on the greenway itself as a rest and relaxation point. Benches will include tables for a possible picnic area. Ensuring the greenway orchard green gym can keep the grass and weeds under control in the orchard and keep it in a reasonable state for visitors to enjoy will require the acquisition of a petrol strimmer and a petrol blower and safety equipment. We plan to purchase Play equipment to attract more family engagement and to increase activation of the Greenway and the orchard. Play equipment includes touch, feel and hear equipment for SEN children and their families. We aim to create a pathway through the Orchard to allow smooth passage for wheelchairs and buggies.
The Greenway is heavily used by cyclists, walkers and the local community for a variety of reasons. Having the benches and play equipment will allow the users of the Greenway a resting place for families, older people and disabled people to break up their journey.
