Greening for Health

We love our GP practice, but from the outside it looks dreadful!
Claremont Clinic is a busy GP practice in a prominent position on the Romford Road, close to the top of Katherine Road.
Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) consists of number of patient representatives and practice professionals who meet bi-monthly to discuss general practice issues and matters of patient concern.
The PPG would like to improve the appearance of the premises by setting up two street planters in the large street space outside the front entrance. These would improve the Romford Road streetscape as well as making the Clinic entrance more attractive and welcoming.
Planted for year round interest, the containers would be maintained and watered by patient volunteers, overseen by the PPG. The planters would:
· Improve the street environment of a particularly run-down stretch of a busy main road by introducing greenery
· Make a small contribution to reducing air pollution on one of Newham’s busiest roads
· Enhance the experience of clinic visits of the 13000+ patients on role
· Improve patient involvement in the care of the premises.
As a result of this project, the Romford Road and the clinic front space will look more attractive.
