Go Digital by Smart Project is meeting Plaistow Assembly Priority 2 – Community Safety, reducing criminal activities, combatting anti-social behaviour and ensuring safe spaces.
Go Digital enables 60 disadvantaged residents of Plaistow North, South and West including Canning Town, to be digitally educated by 2030. This Project aims at making them master of digital equipment.
Digital knowledge and experience benefited them to connect with outside world news, local crime incidents, warnings from Public, and instant, spontaneous contacts with next of kin, ability to communicate better and faster with 999, helps to save life, loneliness and fright.
Social Media enables sharing emotions, requesting information on Welfare Rights, Sale and offers, job opportunities and ordering daily requirements. Go Digital Project ensures safety, things delivered at door steps by ordering online, banking online, make medical appointments and prescription, chatting online with away happily, saves time, money and energy.
Disadvantaged residents need individually-tailored learning programme due to unhealthy background, poor education, language barrier and serious emotional disturbance. Go Digital Project will provide one to one teaching by qualified IT Tutor, friendly support to ensure confidence and motivate interests in safe comfortable environment, 2 hours twice a week for 40 weeks with £5000 grant from CIL.
