Futur.Shock Youth Event Series
From "Custom House & Canning Town Community Assemblies 2022"
Go to the project

This series of workshops, which will culminate in an event, will give young local disadvantaged youths between the ages of 11 - 18 years the opportunity to learn different aspects of contemporary multidisciplinary / interdisciplinary and architectural artistic processes with the aim to present a practical event as an outcome at the end of the course within FOLD. This can take the form of an event directed by them for their community or wider-audiences. They will be given the opportunity to direct the process of putting on an event and will have full-use of the venue including the outside spaces and FOLD legendary audio-visual rig.
The workshop leaders will be provided by UCL Interactive Architecture Lab (whom we have a partnership with) and x2 from Futur.Shock / FOLD resident artists. They will be supported by certified youth workers within the FOLD welfare team and anyone involved in the project will be DBS checked. This project addresses, Improved Community Safety & Policing for everyone, Youth Activities & Education and Better Parks, green spaces & Natural Environment as it incorporates building intervention within the venue which could take the form of outdoor garden space or any other interventions within the space as well as a Live event.
