Description

** Celebrate the Festival of Walking with us in the Peak District **

This idea is to organise and deliver a series of community trips to sites across the UK for the purpose of hiking and mountaineering. The aspect of travelling together and sharing this experience appeals to me as I've met some really good friends whilst being amazed at the natural beauty of our National Parks. The trips will be subsidised to include the cost of the coach hire, basic refreshments, and any additional costs. This grant will ensure people from all backgrounds can attend without spending too much money. The idea is to get a good mix of people from different backgrounds and ages to connect and network whilst learning about the outdoors, environmental issues such as climate change and clean air, and the importance of a strong interconnected community to improve safety and build trust. There will be fun workshops, masterclasses and inputs on a variety of subjects with the goal of upskilling and uplifting participants.

Which peaks are you planning to climb and are these day trips or nights out mountaineering? If your picture us indicative of the suggested group members how do you hike with babies and young children in tow? How many people will benefit from this money?

@Seena Williams Hi Seena, we aim to climb at least 2 peaks; Snowdon and Scafell Pike, along with other ventures into National Parks for walking and camping. We encourage members from all backgrounds to attend along with their families, which could include small children. Not everyone will summit as we encourage people to choose whatever activity and level they feel comfortable with.
