Enforcement of traffic and parking rules

You have the Council generate a top £10.6m in fines, what are they doing and how are they educating drivers, poor signage does not help. We now have more camera (MCT) to catch driver that drive No Entry etc. Why do the traffic warden not give PCN on drivers who park on the pavement, they need to be more visible, even after hours, so drivers will realise they cannot do that again. I imagine it's taking traffic warden, much longer time to enter Reg No. to see if residents have permit or not.

Newham really is a law onto itself when it comes to parking and driving in general. Every single time you take a journey in the borough, you will witness multiple offences from motorists. From speeding to parking on the pavement; blocking bus/cycle lanes to double parking - it seems anything goes. I rarely see any enforcement in play - and I have no idea why. If Newham need to raise revenue, employ a fleet of enforcement officers, and start clamping down - they'll pay for themselves in days - and we'll all be safer to boot!

Couldn't agree more with this, illegal parking is a menace that goes unchecked in the area.

Katherine Road could be a really significant local amenity, but it currently resembles a car park. It's very sad that prioritising car parking is more important than encouraging people to use it as a place to shop and socialise. Similarly, the permitted pavement parking on Shrewsbury Road gives the indication that the free & cheap storage of private motor vehicles on public land is more important than encouraging people to walk about safely, 2 abreast on the pavements. It reveals a lot about the reality of priorities in the borough.
