Description

"EmpowerDia: Navigating Diabetes Together" is a comprehensive program designed to empower individuals living with diabetes through education, support, and a strong sense of community. This initiative brings together participants in a series of engaging sessions, workshops, and activities that provide practical tools and insights for effective diabetes management.

Led by healthcare professionals and experts in diabetes care, "EmpowerDia" covers essential topics such as meal planning, glucose monitoring, medication adherence, and lifestyle adjustments. The program fosters an environment where participants can freely exchange experiences, strategies, and challenges, building connections that enhance their journey towards healthier living.

By fostering knowledge, confidence, and peer support, "EmpowerDia" aims to improve participants' overall well-being, reduce the burden on healthcare resources, and create a resilient community equipped to manage diabetes successfully. Together, we navigate the path to better health and a brighter future.

It is a very good proposal to educate and empower diabetic patients in Newham. The support and face to face educational sessions and workshops will help people to self-care and control their diabetes. It will be a great initiative to work on the prevention of diabetes mellitus as diabetes is increasing due to sedentary lifestyle and imbalanced diet in the whole population especially the Asian community (which form a great percentage of the local population). I like the idea of pro-actively dealing with diabetes mellitus which affects every organ of the body if not treated/controlled properly. Our local population really need such educational support for their better health.

@Haroon Kashmiri I was born in the West Indies and grew up hearing things like, “ you are what you eat “, “ prevention is better than cure “ and “ better late than never.” I still ate and drank all the wrong things and eventually developed diabetes mellitus. This does have a negative effect on every single organ in your body and I think investing all I can to help, would be time and energy well spent.
