Proposed budget

GBP 12,500

Description

All-Sides Sports Club is bringing the community together through fun, inclusive sports for children and young people aged 3–14. Our project offers a wide range of sports activities designed to get young people active, build confidence, and develop teamwork and life skills—all in a safe, welcoming environment.

Many local families face barriers to accessing sports, whether due to cost, limited opportunities, or lack of inclusive sessions. Our project removes these barriers by providing affordable, accessible activities for all abilities, including children with additional needs.

By taking part, young people improve their physical health, boost their mental wellbeing, and build strong social connections. Families benefit too, enjoying a sense of safety, community engagement, and opportunities to get involved through volunteering and coaching.

This project also strengthens the local area by promoting safe use of public spaces, encouraging respect for the environment, and creating positive opportunities for young people to thrive.

With your support, we can continue to make our neighbourhood healthier, safer, and more connected—giving every child the chance to enjoy sport, develop skills, and be part of a stronger community

Hi. What is meant by affordable? What sort of cost would people be looking at?

@Lisa Wenborne Hi Lisa, by ‘affordable’, we are currently providing football coaching for children at the cost of £17.50 a month!. This is by far the cheapest in London! We are providing this price without funding so imagine what we would be charging with funding!!

Hello. I couldn’t get to the voting event yesterday so I’m asking the same questions what I’d ask in person – what is the money being spent on? As in a rough breakdown as I want to know what I will actually get for my vote?

@Jay Smith Hello I would like an answer please, the council told me you have to answer these questions as part of your community engagement.

@Jay Smith Thank you for your message and for taking the time to ask — that’s a really good question. If our project is successful, the funding will be used entirely to support local children and young people through fun, safe and inclusive sports sessions. Here’s a rough breakdown of how the money will be spent: • Equipment & Kit (around 40%) – Buying balls, cones, bibs, goals, first aid kits and age-appropriate training gear so every child can take part, regardless of background. • Venue Hire & Facilities (around 30%) – Covering the cost of local pitches and indoor spaces, ensuring sessions can continue all year round, even in bad weather. • Coaches & Volunteers (around 20%) – Supporting qualified coaches and volunteers with training, safeguarding checks and small stipends so we can deliver high-quality, structured sessions. • Community Events & Inclusion (around 10%) – Organising family fun days, tournaments and inclusive activities to bring the community together and celebrate participation, not just competition. By voting for our project, you’ll be helping create more opportunities for children to stay active, make friends and build confidence through sport – especially those who might not otherwise get the chance. Every vote makes a real difference, and we’d love your support to keep growing this positive, community-driven club.
