Description

The East Ham Farmers Market project aims to provide fresh, locally sourced food to the public while fostering a sense of community and supporting local farmers and artisans. Located in East Ham, this market serves as a hub for people to access high-quality produce, dairy, meats, baked goods, and other handmade items. The market is designed to be inclusive and open to all, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and reducing food waste.

The project seeks to expand its offerings by adding extra stalls that focus on unique or niche products such as organic herbs, homemade preserves, and plant-based alternatives. Additionally, garden stalls will be introduced to promote urban gardening, providing people with the tools and knowledge to grow their own food at home. These stalls will offer everything from seedlings to gardening tips, encouraging a greener, more self-sufficient community.

The market will rely on volunteers to help with setup, management, and assisting customers, creating opportunities for local residents to get involved. Volunteers will also help run workshops on topics such as sustainable living, food education, and gardening.

Ultimately, the purpose of this project is to create a vibrant community space that promotes healthier living, supports local agriculture, and engages residents in hands-on activities that benefit both individuals and the environment.
