Description
Dialogue Express Cafe is an inclusive community project in Stratford, led by Dialogue Hub CIC. Located in a converted train carriage, the café is run by Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing baristas who showcase the talent and creativity of the Deaf community.
Our next goal is to create nine new job opportunities for local Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing residents through a year-long job-placement programme. Each participant will gain London Living Wage (LLW) paid work experience, barista training, and confidence to move on to roles in other cafés and community venues across Newham. Every year, nine new participants will join the programme, steadily increasing Deaf employment and visibility in the borough.
Beyond coffee, Dialogue Express Cafe offers British Sign Language workshops, youth hangouts, and family events—reducing loneliness, improving wellbeing, and building bridges between Deaf and hearing neighbours.
Over 2,000 people will benefit annually through jobs, volunteering, workshops, or simply enjoying a safe, inclusive and welcoming space to connect.
Vote for Dialogue Express Cafe and help make Stratford a more inclusive, connected, and understanding community—one coffee at a time.
