Description
Custom Voices Dance is a spoken word and dace project aimed at developing new partnerships with young people/ people within the Custom House and Canning Town Area. The project will work with a number of key artistic partners including, Custom House Books, Social Convention, East London Dance, Sonia Sabri, Ruff Sqwad, Southpaw Dance, Company Chameleon and Lyrix Organix to develop a programme of Dance and Spoken word and Dance for people within the area. The aim of the project will be to develop new work by local young people, develop skills in spoken word and dance and present performances in venues including Cundy Park, Royal Victoria Docks and Dockside Lawn with the final work being presented at Ensemble Festival 2024.
The project will aim to work with young people in the area including refugee communities currently housed in the IBIS Hotel on Royal Victoria Docks Rd. The programme will take place form November 2023 to July 2024 and include workshops in dance and spoken word and performances aimed at the local community.
