Corners of beauty

Invest in Parks and Green spaces -. Katherine Road does not currently boast much in the way of Green spaces. It’s a long road, well used by many as a transport route and walked along by school children.  The introduction of even small areas of nature and beauty will increase feelings of wellbeing and create pockets of beauty that will increase the pride people feel about their area and hopeful increase a motivation to maintain it.

Community safety - After witnessing a few accidents at this junctions, I believe the introduction of well placed flower beds will help to slow traffic, increase caution and improve the road safety in this area.

Cleaner Environment - These spaces are notorious for the constant dumping of food waste and fly-tipping. This perpetuates problems of pest infestation (mice, rats and pigeons).  Let's repurpose this area and change the way people see it to affect positive change. 

Whilst my proposal is initially for the Sherrard Road/Katherine Road junction, it is hope that corners of beauty can be introduced along many sites on Katherine Road - funding permitting.
