Description
We have a record of running great events, building relationships and growing change on the Mill Meads estate and within the local neighbourhood in E15. This project builds on this - enabling us to run Community Outreach and 6 Neighbourhood events in 2026-7. Each event will have food and drink, crafts, sports, competitions and will bring neighbours together. Listening will play a major role at these events as we talk together about what we want to see in our community.
Out of these events and listening, we will start 2 local monthly groups. The first 'Tea and Talk' will support those with a sense of loneliness and isolation, or just those who want to meet their neighbours in an informal setting. Through activities and communication we will enable a sense of participation and belonging.
Secondly, 'Eco champions' will facilitate local families who want to work together to better care for our neighbourhood. Running litter picking, gardening, local art projects and more they will help create a place we can all be proud of, responding to issues identified through our listening. Culminating in a campaign for the whole neighbourhood to improve the place where we live!
