Description

Community Wellbeing & Mental Health Support Hub

Project Presented by Sibte Zahra

Project Location: The Community Mental Health Workshop Series will be held at Royal Docks Becton in a Community Centre, London

The Community Mental Health Workshop Series is a ten-month programme open to all community members, welcoming children, parents, young people, adults, and older residents. Each monthly workshop is designed to provide practical skills, awareness, and coping strategies in an engaging and supportive environment.

The series begins with Mental Health Awareness and First Aid, teaching immediate responses to crises such as panic attacks, seizures, and fainting, so participants of all ages can act calmly and safely. Parenting workshops will support parents and carers by exploring different parenting styles, improving communication, and offering guidance on educating children effectively. In Sleep and Screen Addiction sessions, residents will learn how digital habits affect health, relationships, and focus, along with practical steps to regain balance.

Young people will benefit from Exam Stress sessions, using time-management plans, focus-building techniques, and relaxation strategies to handle pressure with confidence. Other workshops on Behaviour, Confidence, Stress, Resilience, and Peer Support will be suitable for teens, adults, and older participants, incorporating painting, muscle-relaxation exercises, mindfulness, and wellbeing games to make learning enjoyable.

Project Timeline:

Start Date: 15-03-2026

This is an excellent initiative that tackles mental health in a proactive, inclusive, and accessible way. The wide range of workshops—from crisis response to exam stress, parenting, and resilience—shows real understanding of community needs across all age groups. By blending practical skills with creative and engaging activities, the project creates a supportive environment that will strengthen wellbeing and bring people together.
