The aim of the project is to support women to feel safe In the community. The project will look at different aspects on how we can support them to feel safe and confident in their everyday life and learn how to become more confident in their surroundings.
The project will look at delivering a range of workshops and sessions.
- Self-defence class
- Safety awareness session with local police
- Community safety event
- Online safety awareness
- Children safety
- Community Safety packs in other languages
- Women support groups session (talking therapies sessions)
The women’s safety project hosted a Women’s Safety awareness session on Saturday 11th December 2021 at the Masjid Ibrahim Mosque.
The event was attended by MP Stephen Timms , Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz, and senior members of the metropolitan police safety team. There were approximately 200 people in attendance.
A women's safety walk took place on Saturday 12th March 2022 in the Green Street ward area ,with the community safety team and the police in support of international women's day.
