Description
INTRODUCTION
Four art workshop sessions in East Ham to cater to a wide range of interests and preferences. Each workshop will have two facilitators, additional volunteers and offer at least two separate activities exploring different themes. These may include painting, mono-printing, masks, collage, card and zine making. Participants will have the freedom to move between activities or focus on one. Each workshop session will conclude with an informal and fun sharing session, where participants will have the opportunity to get supportive feedback from the group.
The workshops offer an enjoyable and interactive experience, with all necessary materials and equipment included. Their purpose is to create a space for community members to delve into and unleash their artistic potential, acquire fresh abilities, and give voice to their creativity. These sessions are designed to accommodate individuals of varying artistic backgrounds, catering to beginners as well as those more experienced, who are looking to further develop their skills.
They will explore a variety of mixed media providing participants with a solid foundation to explore further. This process will be facilitated by art professionals who will provide support and guidance throughout.

Health and Wellbeing
Overall, these community art workshops aim to nurture creativity, health and well being, foster community connections, and celebrate local talent and unique artistic expression. By providing a platform for exploration and expression, these workshops will contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the area and empower individuals to embrace their artistic journeys, make new friendships and contribute to a community feeling in the area.
My experience of facilitating workshops is that participants often commented on how inspired and refreshed they felt from engaging with other people, learning new skills and feeling included with other local creatives.
Further Opportunities
Participants will have the opportunity to progress and extend their involvement by exploring potential collaborations with other organisations and nearby art galleries, such as Community Arts Newham and Tower Gallery. This opens up a pathway for workshop attendees to engage in upcoming local exhibitions, which could take the form of physical or online displays in the times ahead.
