Description
My project is about gathering the community to explore, learn and play music, dance, share stories and food around traditional West African drums.
We are going to deliver 3 workshops by a master drummer and his assistants and 1 end of project performance event where everyone is invited to join and celebrate.
The ancient rhythms will transport the participants on a journey to different African countries like Senegal, Mali, Guinea (...on a journey back in time, back to the roots, back to primary rhythms found in many traditions from all around the world)..
There will also be dancing involved in the drumming circle/workshops, where people will be able to rejoice, bloom, shine, let go, release and surrender to the rhythm and let their body speak.
Food and stories will be shared during the breaks and inbetween the drumming sessions.
Drumming & Dancing is good for mental wellbeing and welcomes everybody, of all shapes, ages, levels and background,
