We will co-design our mural together with you getting special individual attention to design your part of the mural with Rose. Being mindful of what the group has achieved. You will have 100% ownership of what patterns you will choose from what you have learned in the earlier workshops.

Rose Hill will use the designs from the workshops to create colourful, exciting, murals that represent and celebrates the diversity of the area and be a legacy in the community. Work Placements: created two paid placements for local Newham residents at £12.50 per hour for 6 months with one staff being set to be a permanent member of staff after the project finishes. Thrilled to be able to offer paid positions to local Newham residents and bring them along on this journey!! As echoed by Ayesha Fatima our new Social Media Manager:

“It's truly amazing to be a part of Co-Creative Connection and bring Rose's visions to life through social and web. Within a minute of speaking with Rose you'll see how passionate she is about the work she does, and the impact that C-CC has on individuals and communities. Rose is easy to work with and super attentive, and the Newham Project is a great example of this. I am so excited to see what the future holds for C-CC and be a part of the journey.”

Feedback from participants:

“My favourite thing about the workshops is the feeling of belonging and being involved in the community. To feel like a part of something great and contribute. It has really been helping me with my stress levels and being able to relax. To do some art and talk to people. What else could you wish for?!” Martyna Naidu working group member and participant

“It’s been lovely working with Rose at the workshops! She explains everything clearly and full of enthusiasm to the group. Helping her connect the project participants through a collaborative art project has been a beautiful experience, really highlighting and teaching me the power that art has in facilitating expression in community settings. I would recommend these workshops in being beneficial to everyone :)” Dina Chehrazi January 2023

These murals will enrich Newham’s cultural landscape. By adding a focus, personality and character that represents their creativity.

“My favourite part about the workshops is the way you run the workshops, you’re very good at explaining things and its amazing how you match and put everyone’s ideas together. I thought it was very interesting to watch you develop all the mood board into this final design!” Catherine Lion Dec 2022

There is no ongoing maintenance of a lot of installations across Newham. Does your proposal include any costs to maintain the mural or removal of the mural when it is looking tired?

@Chris Wilkinson this is a great question thank you for asking Chris! we currently have three options for the mural: 1 x option is to hand paint the mural in the court yard using masonry paints that has a 15+ year guarantee on the colours, they are UV and weather protected and mould resistant and need little maintenance. It can easily be painted back to the original colour if necessary at a low cost. 1 x is a temporary hand painted mural on hoarding using the same quality masonry paints, the hoarding will be removed after a certain amount of time when it's no longer needed. 1 x option is vinyl on planters with a removable option in place after 2 or so years. Another person has suggested another space and would love to discuss that option now and if we are to get the funding. More information can be offered to you if you have any further questions? Thank you so much for your interest Chris in this impactful project!! Very happy to discuss more with you and so excited to make this collaborative mural a reality.
It would be lovely to have one of Rose Hill's murals created in the area, for all to enjoy, and even better for the community to be involved in it!
