Clifton Road Planters

From "Manor Park Community Assemblies 2022"

Go to the project

We would like funding to support the installation and planting of three new raised planters, to be developed and maintained by local residents and situated at he junction of Clifton Road and Bristol Road, E7

These planers would work in parallel both to enhance the area visually as well as reduce through access to this end of the street, thereby providing a much improved and safer area for local children to play and dramatically reducing the risk to injury on a blind bend.

There is a strong, diverse and proactive community of neighbours on Clifton, Coulston, Bath and Bristol Road which has been established through regular street parties and walkabouts over recent years and it is upon this spirit which we would like to build even further community cohesion. The planters would provide the opportunity of a focal point for community days, including planting and knowledge exchange around growing, as well as the potential to signpost residents to other local projects and activities with an integrated community notice board. They would add much needed greenery to the area, reduce pollution and have planting schemes that are both mindful of climate resilience as well as the need for encouraging increased biodiversity and wildlife habitats.

Love your local street project. I shall pay a visit to your corner of Manor Park. Come to the Manor Park community garden to grow your plants and flowers in the green house. You have my vote!
@Frederic Billet If we’re successful in the bid we will do that! We want to work with Manor Park and Forest Gate Community Gardens.
Sorry about that! I believe it was corrected last night
