Proposed budget

GBP 20,000

Description

St Mary's Allotment has been growing food for families locally since 1906. Our project aims to maintain this history of gardening with the restoration of our cabin and community areas. We will improve the environment sustainably, encourage healthy activity for all, foster social inclusion and sharing of knowledge and produce, ensure safety as well as honouring treasured memories. Our 3 local schools and 2 elderly residences, food banks and community kitchens will all benefit from the updating of this fabulous community asset. Whilst the biodiversity of wildlife and soil will be nurtured for years to come.

Hi, apologies that the last post was abit muddled. A good example of my social impairment with regards IT. Thanks also to the team from Coproduction whose utube engagement video I watched last night as was held on the 26th April. It introduced me to this idea of impairments rather than disabilities, where barriers to doing stuff are in society and our structures rather than being a medical problem or an individual's disability. Thankyou that was very useful.
Just a quick update date. Our project is An An update: we are steadily progressing with the first phase of our project, the ground work nearly complete. We have a restored wildlife pond, a drop box for wood chip and manure. Our pebbled area has been bordered with sleepers and an old storage container made accessible with cleared bindweed and hard surfacing. Phase 2 will be the restored cabin followed by our small garden area with seating
Good luck Mary @Helen Crossley this sounds amazing and would be so beneficial for our area! Please everyone vote! Xx
