Alleyway Clean Up - St Mary’s Road and Glasgow Road

From "Plaistow Community Assemblies"

Go to the project

I would like to propose we place planters/blossom trees and paint/mural the alleyway that runs between Glasgow Road and St.Mary’s Road.

This alleyway is used by local residents, students and staff at Lister and Plaistow Primary, patrons of the Lord Stamford pub and generally it has a decent amount of footfall and bike traffic throughout the day.

It is a major hotspot for fly tipping and urination. There is often broken glass on the floor and litter and alcohol cans rolling around. People also loiter here to smoke cannabis and this alleyway has been used to flee police chases in the past.

The changes would address all 3 concerns - fly tipping/littering, antisocial behaviour and it would create a new green space for us to enjoy.

I fully support this project. Unfortunately some alleyways are used for flytipping and anti social behaviour. Greening this alleyway up, would create a more welcoming atmosphere for the pupils and other local residents, who pass through it every day.
Simple yet effective way to improve the alleyway; great idea!

I’d love to see this alleyway transformed. Great project. Greening this area would reduce flytipping in it and let flytippers know that residents care about our area.
