Abbey Hub Woodland - Ambition Aspire Achieve

The Abbey Hub Woodland project will support the development of a unique outdoor learning space located at The Glyn Hopkin Abbey Hub, our neighbourhood hub situated at 6 Gay Road, Stratford, E15 2RN. Ambition Aspire Achieve has been gifted for an initial 10-year period an area of mature woodland, adjacent to the Hub by the landowners Thames Water. The project will help us to transform the space, creating a brand-new outdoor community resource, which we will use as a facility to provide fully inclusive opportunities and activities for residents residing in areas surrounding the site. If successful, funding will be used to install a range of facilities, including an outdoor covered learning space, a nature hide, for animal observations and photography, a nature trail, wide range of bird, small mammal and bug houses and habitats, educational resources throughout the area and 3 orienteering courses at varying levels of difficulties.

Funding will then be used to deliver regular weekly activities during 2023, helping local children/young people and their families to learn about wildlife and its conservation within inner city Newham, whilst offering a medium to support wellbeing and provide a one-of-a kind nature themed play space for local residents.
