Little Ilford Pride in Place
Pride in Place is a Government programme designed to give local communities a greater role in shaping the future of their neighbourhoods.
Little Ilford has been selected as one of a limited number of neighbourhoods across England that could receive up to £20 million of investment over the next 10 years.
The programme focuses on three key objectives:
- Building stronger communities: Helping people feel proud of where they live, connected to one another and able to shape the future of their neighbourhood.
- Creating thriving places: Supporting better public spaces, community facilities, local high streets, services and neighbourhood environments.
- Empowering local people: Giving local people a real say in identifying priorities, shaping projects and influencing how investment is used.
The most important part of Pride in Place is that local people help decide what matters most for their neighbourhood.
To support this, a new Little Ilford Neighbourhood Board will be established to work alongside the wider community and develop a Pride in Place Plan.
Examples of projects that may be supported include:
- Parks and green spaces
- Community centres
- Youth activities
- Community events
- Public spaces
- Local heritage projects
- Community safety initiatives
- Health and wellbeing projects
- Local high streets
- Skills and employment initiatives
The specific priorities for Little Ilford will be identified by local people through the Pride in Place process.
