Jack Cornwell Centre Refurbishment Project Phase
The Council has now appointed Public Works Ltd to deliver this project.
They have been working on design proposals that incorporate the comments from users of the centre and other local residents. They have run three engagement events, one in June,one in July, and one is September to share the current designs and gather people's opinions. Please see the drawing below which outlines the design changes that will take place.
Public Works are also working with some of the gardeners at Jack Cornwell Community Centre to apply for funding for further improvements to the garden through the Newham led People Powered Places initiative.

Funding Bid
To secure funding towards the costs of delivering the strategic project recommendations in the Newham High Streets strategy the Council submitted a bid to the Levelling up Fund in June 2021. This bid was successful and included £300,000 for the Jack Cornwell Centre’s refurbishment.
